Simple Suiting

Wearing a suit day after day can be quite tiresome so I’m always looking for new ways to wear one that’s a bit more creative but still professional-looking. Having said that, however, a great fitting suit doesn’t require a lot to look stylish. Here, I’m just wearing a suit with a simple pull-over sweater and a collar-less jacket for a more modern, updated twist on the classic suit (slightly blurry photo):

Theory Lanai Blazer / Theory Max C Trousers (in a different fabric here) / LAUREN by Ralph Lauren Adena Pumps / Club Monaco Sweater (similar in pink)/ Michael Kors Runway Watch (on sale here!)/ Forever21 Rings

This Theory Lanai blazer has become one of my go-to blazers in a work setting when I want to look put together, but don’t need to be super-conservative. It also works beautifully if you need to use it more casually, I just roll up the sleeves! I am wearing the jacket in my typical Theory jacket size in the classic wool blend which Theory no longer makes, but you may be able to find it in different fabrics including a  cotton-blend version. As a forewarning however, the cotton-blend can shrink at the dry cleaners, as I know from personal experience. My much loved white Lanai blazer shrunk after I had it professionally cleaned and I didn’t realize it until about four months later when it was too late to say anything about it. slams head on desk

At Off 5th, you can currently find this blazer at Off Fifth off in several colors! And an extra 40% for their F&F with code: FRIENDS. Such a great deal.

See the Lanai blazer here, as well as a few less expensive alternatives:
