Just One

It happens more often than I’d like, but sometimes I will take a hundred photos and not a single one will be blog-worthy. It’s annoying to say the least. Yesterday was one of those days, but I thought this one photo might be borderline blog-worthy, so for the sake of posting since I missed all last week, I have shared this one photo. Just one, though.

DRESSED ACCORDINGLY BLOG / Double Breasted Blazer + White denim + Over the knee suede bootsJ.Crew Double Breasted Blazer in Wool (similar in Super 120s wool or here in white) / Cole Haan Suede Boots (old, but for a splurge see here) / Paige Verdugo Ultra Skinny White Denim / 3.1 Phillip Lim 31 Minute Medium Clutch / Forever21 Rings / Golden by TNA V-Neck Tee / Dogeared Necklace

I actually purchased this J.Crew blazer in regular sizing as opposed to petite sizing, just praying that it was going to fit because I got it for such a good deal ($40!). I’ve been dying to add a double-breasted blazer to my wardrobe, but couldn’t find that was just right and didn’t cost me my left leg. To my surprise, it fit just about perfectly. I may just add this J.Crew double-breasted blazer in Super 120s Wool to complete a non-traditional suit for work, or this white one for more casual days.

Something worth noting, Olivia Palermo and Chelsea28(Nordstrom’s house brand) have collaborated on a spring collection that looks pretty darn good! Check out these wide leg trousers, this sleeveless suede trench, and this double-breasted denim blazer!

LOVE the Cole Haan OTK boots. They look pretty high quality and I’m in love with the color. Great look!

Thanks, Brian! I love these boots, but they just don’t get as much wear as they used to, now that I’ve moved back home where there is an actual winter!!

The blazer looks so good! I know this post is old, but I was wondering what size did you end up getting? I’m 5’4″ and very slim, so I’m debating between a 00 Petite and a 000 Regular. I’d wear it as a suit set. Worried about sleeve length on the petite but the J. Crew website claims the sleeve length for both regular and petite is 31 inches. If you see this, thanks in advance!

For this jacket, I ended up getting the 0R. I usually buy 0P-2P from J.Crew as I have athletic shoulders. I did purchase the double-breasted jacket in Super 120s Wool, but the fit was off. IIRC, I needed more room in the shoulders with the 0P, but going up to a 2P made it way too boxy around my waist. Maybe ask CS if the sleeve length is actually the same for both P and R, because that sounds a bit suspicious!

Thank you for replying! I decided on not relying on chance for fit since the blazer is final sale. Sadly, the J. Crew stores in my area closed down a few years ago so I’m unable to try on first. I did have luck at Banana Republic with a double breasted blazer with slightly cropped sleeves but wish it came in darker colors. Thanks again for your help. Glad I stumbled upon your post. Great job on your blog! Cheers.
