Pub Night in Grey Suede

Headed out to the pub this weekend for something a bit different.  No, you are not seeing double. If you recall, I do have this exact same jacket in blue (see post here). I was looking for a grey suede jacket that didn’t break the bank and when I came across this one by BlankNYC I couldn’t hit the “purchase” button fast enough. Unfortunately, they are sold out in the grey, but they do have it in stock in this amazing burgundy color.

Bloomingdale’s is having their Friends & Family sale and you can grab this amazing suede jacket with an extra 25% off on $198 (use code: FRIENDS). For a suede jacket with that has a good amount of weight to it, this is a really great price and I highly recommend it.

The sleeveless turtleneck tunic I’m wearing under the jacket is made by Ann Taylor. I was fully expecting to return this, but was really surprised at how flattering it was. I took my regular AT size, XSP. It is also currently on sale with an extra 30% off at checkout.

Other notable sales include Theory which is also having there F&F sale. Use code FRIENDS for 25% off. They also offer free shipping and returns if you are unsure about sizing. I’m really loving the this trench coat, and while I’m not normally about ruffles, I really order this blouse.

Ruffle Trim

And we’re back. Somehow a two week break turned into a three month break, but nonetheless, I’m ready to try and get back into this as my favorite fashion season has started. And what’s a better post to show off my new nude pumps! I finally snagged myself a pair when Ann Taylor re-stocked these in my size and I’m thrilled. After years of searching for the perfect nude pump that was just the right color, with just the right heel and toe shape, AND actually fit my feet! Not that you’d expect otherwise, but you will likely sees these pumps many of my upcoming posts. 😉

Summer shorts

I just finished a wonderful 70 hour work week and finally got a day off after two weeks straight of slaving over a computer screen. It’s been a while since I’ve worked that  many hours in a week, and I’m not overly thrilled about it. But for now, I’ll have to just suck it up and attribute the long hours to my learning curve and hope it will pay off in a few months. So I apologize for the sporadic posts, but unfortunately it cannot be helped. For the first time, I have an appreciation for my hypoglycemia, as without it I’d be on a strict coffee-only diet.

Linen Shorts + Madewell Boardwalk Lace-up sandalsClub Monaco Silk Blouse (old) / Wilfred Allegra Shorts / Madewell Boardwalk Sandals / Le Chateau Rings

After hunting high and low for the perfect black summer shorts, I purchased a linen-blend pair a few months back. I love the slouchy-ness and the light fabric so much I’m contemplating another pair. Aritzia is about to start their summer sale, I think it’s open to everyone starting June 23. I am also loving this pair.

These lace-up sandals are the Madewell Boardwalk Sandal, and even though I have bypassed sandals for sneakers the past few summers, I’m kind of loving these. They are currently 25% off with the code: UNIFORM. I went down half a size after reading several reviews. And I think it was the right decision. They just fit.

On a different note, I was just informed that my office has decided to make everyday denim day (with the exception of client meetings, presentations, etc.). I am pretty ecstatic, who doesn’t want more variety? I have yet to decide how much this is actually going to change what I wear to work, but I do imagine that I’d still be wearing “work” trousers/skirts at least a few times a week. It will also be interesting to see how people interpret these “casual” days. Sure we’re allowed denim, but what will my younger colleagues think that extends to? Leggings?  Hoodies? Yoga pants? If I worked in HR I think this would be a legitimate concern as I often see that many millennials don’t understand the concept of “business casual” entails, let alone “casual in the workplace” (um, belly tops? what?). We shall see.
