-->WARNING: Do NOT Swipe right if you are uneasy w -->WARNING: Do NOT Swipe right if you are uneasy with the sight of blood and needles!

I was debating if should share this here, but I figured, I could always use the extra support. And writing and sharing my thoughts is therapeutic in many ways. After committing to posting more earlier this year, things got a little crazy, with what COVID and all. But beyond that, last week I was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer.

At 40, with no family history of cancer, and living a relatively healthy and active lifestyle, it was definitely unexpected. The good news is, that it was caught relatively early, which is not usually the case with PC, and there's no spread. So things are looking fairly optimistic. One thing I think I'm still grasping with is the idea of chemo (aka warrior juice), which I started this week. It will be fast and aggressive--I call it "fast and furious", and it will be follow by surgery to remove the growth. Am I scared and overwhelmed? Yes and yes. But I'm trying to remain strong and positive. I have no intention of this thing taking me down, but I would be lying if I said that the upcoming battle didn't absolutely petrify me. I've been trying to keep my regular routine which helps. But I also have moments of weakness. Particularly when I see people looking sad about it. Because the last thing I want is to cause my loved ones pain. It seems a little weird, I know—That I'm worrying more about other people, than myself during this time. A time, that if anything, I should be selfish. It's just not how I'm wired, I suppose.

For now, I'm still feeling relatively strong physically and mentally--and trying everyday to maintain that. Hoping that in the new year, I'll be good as new. I haven’t yet posted about this on my blog just yet, but I will eventually, along with some new and different content than what’s been shared over the many years. Thank you for all your compassion and support in the days and months to come. I'm absolutely determined to come out on top. xCher
