Rock the Red Carpet with FarFetch

In honor of Awards season and in collaboration with FarFetch, I was asked to “celebrate the most glamorous and star studded time of the year in Hollywood…to take inspiration from the red carpet looks of 2016 and yesteryear to create an award show look that is fashion forward and Farfetch enough to rock the red carpet”.

I really don’t do “glam” very often, and certainly not to the extent that is “red-carpet-worthy”, so I took to the FarFetch website to help me put together something that I would wear to an event like the Oscars. And it was no easy task. Taking into account my own personal style and the current red carpet trends, it took me quite a while to figure out something I was happy with. I could not imagine trying to do this in real life!

Showing off some skin, particularly, the back and legs have been pretty popular the last few years. I’ve also noticed that jewelry has been fairly minimal. So I tried to incorporate those ideas into my set. And of course, outfit is not complete without good hair!

What trends on the red carpet have you been loving lately??

Just One

It happens more often than I’d like, but sometimes I will take a hundred photos and not a single one will be blog-worthy. It’s annoying to say the least. Yesterday was one of those days, but I thought this one photo might be borderline blog-worthy, so for the sake of posting since I missed all last week, I have shared this one photo. Just one, though.

DRESSED ACCORDINGLY BLOG / Double Breasted Blazer + White denim + Over the knee suede bootsJ.Crew Double Breasted Blazer in Wool (similar in Super 120s wool or here in white) / Cole Haan Suede Boots (old, but for a splurge see here) / Paige Verdugo Ultra Skinny White Denim / 3.1 Phillip Lim 31 Minute Medium Clutch / Forever21 Rings / Golden by TNA V-Neck Tee / Dogeared Necklace

I actually purchased this J.Crew blazer in regular sizing as opposed to petite sizing, just praying that it was going to fit because I got it for such a good deal ($40!). I’ve been dying to add a double-breasted blazer to my wardrobe, but couldn’t find that was just right and didn’t cost me my left leg. To my surprise, it fit just about perfectly. I may just add this J.Crew double-breasted blazer in Super 120s Wool to complete a non-traditional suit for work, or this white one for more casual days.

Something worth noting, Olivia Palermo and Chelsea28(Nordstrom’s house brand) have collaborated on a spring collection that looks pretty darn good! Check out these wide leg trousers, this sleeveless suede trench, and this double-breasted denim blazer!

Covered

Feeling a bit under the weather over the past week. This, combined with the extremely low temperatures (winter has finally caught up!), all I want to do is hibernate under the covers. I’m hoping to get some much needed rest, despite having a very under-exercised pup that wants to play in the wee hours of the morning.

In the meantime, I’ll cover up in this cozy poncho.
