It happens more often than I’d like, but sometimes I will take a hundred photos and not a single one will be blog-worthy. It’s annoying to say the least. Yesterday was one of those days, but I thought this one photo might be borderline blog-worthy, so for the sake of posting since I missed all last week, I have shared this one photo. Just one, though.
I actually purchased this J.Crew blazer in regular sizing as opposed to petite sizing, just praying that it was going to fit because I got it for such a good deal ($40!). I’ve been dying to add a double-breasted blazer to my wardrobe, but couldn’t find that was just right and didn’t cost me my left leg. To my surprise, it fit just about perfectly. I may just add this J.Crew double-breasted blazer in Super 120s Wool to complete a non-traditional suit for work, or this white one for more casual days.
Feeling a bit under the weather over the past week. This, combined with the extremely low temperatures (winter has finally caught up!), all I want to do is hibernate under the covers. I’m hoping to get some much needed rest, despite having a very under-exercised pup that wants to play in the wee hours of the morning.
In the meantime, I’ll cover up in this cozy poncho.
As you can tell, I decided to do a bit of re-branding. I had been thinking about doing this for a long while and finally decided it was time.
Truthfully, I really just wanted a new name as the blog evolved so much since I first started it, and when I first chose “AFD” I never imagined that anyone would ever read it so I didn’t put a whole lot of thought into it! I really wanted a new name that sounded more appropriate and well…cool. And as you can imagine, everyone had already thought up the really cool blog names, and “Dressed Accordingly” was the best one I could come up with while sounding relevant to its content. I chose it because it can have different meanings–dressed according to the circumstances, to my personal style, and to fit my body type (petite!). I hadn’t realized it until I was going back editing my posts for this new website, but I think I may have subconsciously named the blog based on this quote I posted a few years ago by Epictetus:
I had forgotten how much work it was designing a new website. It took me four full days to customize the theme even before I started importing the posts from AFD. Importing and formatting was a whole other adventure in itself. Furthermore, I am totally new to CSS. There was quite a bit of learning curve, but I think it still turned out OK! So please, stay awhile. The content is more or less the same, for now anyway. I am still working out the kinks and tweaking the website a bit here and there trying to decide what I like and don’t like.
I also encourage you to let me know if you come across something that doesn’t work properly or there is something that you would like to see (or not see). I am aware that some of what I call the “stalker” buttons don’t work properly just yet, as I am waiting a few days for the full transition to be implemented before I change them. Otherwise, everything should work as intended. All constructive criticism is appreciated.
Thank you for your patience! And please don’t forget to update your bookmarks!
For those of you that use Bloglovin’, in a few days it should automatically redirect, but if you can’t wait and you’d like to add the new website manually, you may click here –> Follow me on Bloglovin
