As my fellow petites can probably relate, it can be incredibly difficult to find a sweater dress that doesn’t completely overwhelm my frame. Sweaterdresses that you see online are usually worn by models who are around 5’10. Meaning, what hits them at mid-thigh, probably hits me at mid-calf. Not a great look. I eventually gave up trying to find a true sweaterdress and started widening my search for a longer length sweater that might work as a dress. Even this turned out to be quite the challenge, but I finally came across a sweater that would allow me to do, what is called, “lampshading”.

Bow Blouse

The one thought that consistently pops into my head every time I do a little online shopping to update my wardrobe for this coming spring is, “Holy ruffles”. I have yet to decide if I want to partake in this trend (probably not), but at least for now, I will continue to wear the classic bow blouse. This Banana Republic version was purchased during the fall season last year and I’m quite a bit late posting about it, but is actually quite nice. It has a good amount of stretch, but it definitely runs on the small side. I went a size larger than my usual 0P, and I feel as if going up another size would still be quite comfortable without looking sloppy.

I know I’ve been rather quiet lately. Far too quiet, even for my own preference. But truthfully, the last month I’ve been struggling with a pretty awful eye infection that I still can’t seem to shake. As you can imagine, picture-taking isn’t high on the things I’d like to do. Today, my eye has been looking somewhat decently better so I decided that I would try to take a few photos with this wine-colored coat and see if I could make it work. A little bit of extra face angling, et voilà! A few photos that almost don’t look like I got punched in the eye. 🙂

I fell in love with this wine-colored coat when I saw it online. It’s totally not within my regular color scheme, but I love a good wine/burgundy colored statement piece. It’s a great contrast to my winter wardrobe that’s heavy on the neutrals.

I’ve lived in these black Paiges ever since I got them before the Christmas holidays. I’m a huge fan of Paige denim, and these do not disappoint. For a long time, I had been opposed to super stretchy denim because I’ve always been of the mindset that  denim should feel like denim, not leggings. But given how denim has evolved over the last few years, finding a good pair of jeans without a significant amount of stretch in them *and* that have a great fit, isn’t the easiest to find. In the end, I gave in and I haven’t looked back.
