Sale: UGG Australia

I have been a big fan of the Classic Ugg Boot since 2003/2004, when they first gained popularity. My love for them has not waned. I have had five or six pairs since (a few have been replaced due to extreme wear). They have recently been trending again this season due to the backing of many celebrities. Ugg Australia has updated the original UGG boot that many of us have come to love, but I’m still a fan of the Classic Tall. And now they are on sale along with many other styles including the Classic short, Bailey button, and the Bailey Bow styles for 15-20% off! In the many years I have worn and purchased UGG boots, the classic styles have never been  on sale and they are always excluded from promotional codes and discounts. It’s a great time to pick up a pair not only for yourself but also as a gift for Christmas! Check them out here at Nordstrom ! I may pick up s pair of grey Uggs to replace my old pair that I’ve worn a hole into.

If your legs are on the shorter side, you may prefer the kids’ version, some of which are also on sale, and are less expensive than the adult version.
If you’ve never purchased UGG before, I  size down in the classic style. It may seem a bit too snug at first, but the shearling will eventually flatten out. And if the soles get too flat (which may happen after years of regular wear), I recommend the replacement insoles.

Have fun shopping!

Rough’n Tough + Veda Max Classic Jacket Review

Fall is my favorite season for fashion because I can easily get away with wearing these rough’n tough biker looks just about every day of the week….after the day job, of course.

DRESSED ACCORDINGLY BLOG // Veda Max Classic Leather Jacket + Cargo Pants + Chelsea Boots DRESSED ACCORDINGLY BLOG // Veda Max Classic Leather Jacket + Cargo Pants + Chelsea BootsVeda Max Classic Leather Jacket (comes in red, white and blue!) / Paige Cargo Denim (see similar) / Ann Taylor Gail Chelsea Boots / Madewell Bucket Bag / Jacob Turtleneck (old see tissue version by J.Crew)

I’ve this Veda Max Classic Jacket for approximately three years now and I still wear it regularly throughout the year whenever the weather warrants it. I don’t wear it closed very often (or at all), but was asked by a reader to do a review and show a picture of it zipped up and I thought it would be a great opportunity to play around with a look that has the jacket zipped all the way up (it can also be worn with the collar folded down). Plus, since I’ve had it for quite a while, I agreed that Im probably in a good position to talk about it.

The leather is just as soft and supple as when I first bought it, even more so as it has broken in. It does fit a bit tight across the shoulders, however. So, if you are wide/strong shouldered like I am, going up a size would not be a bad idea. It has stretched a little bit over the years, but not dramatically.

As you may have noticed, it is made of knit under the arms making for a very snug fit. Because of this, layering isn’t so easy. I generally layer over a thin shirt, but chunky sweaters? Don’t even think about it. Also, the knit has pilled a little bit over time, but nothing a pill-shaver cant’t fix.

As for how well the leather has worn over time, it does look worn in some places. Because it is such a tight fitting jacket and requires some pulling to get it on, there are certain areas of the jacket like behind the shoulder or under the arms where the leather appears to be peeling/drying a little bit. Proper care regular moisturizing (and not pulling too hard) could help delay or prevent this. I admit, I don’t moisturize as often as I should.

Would I buy this jacket again? Yes, but definitely on sale. I believe I purchased it for under $400, and I think it was worth that price. I do think it could have worn a bit better over time, but given how much I do actually wear it, it probably was just inevitable.

Do you have a favorite leather jacket? I’m always on the hunt! Check out All-Saints, which is having a 20% off sale everything except handbags with code: NOVEMBER. Jackets are great for petites!

And a quick mention of these chelsea boots from Ann Taylor. It is one of my most recent purchases that I could not resist. These boots in particular attracted me because the slightly pointy/almond shaped toe box. Most chelsea boots I’ve come across recently either have an round toe or a pointy-toe, so I was thrilled to find a hybrid and thought it was different enough to justify its purchase. Right now AT is having their F&F sale with code FRIENDS40. A great time to snag these booties for 40% off! They also come in brown! I took my regular boot size.

Navy blue sweater

I recently picked up my first ever navy blue sweater and I have no idea what took me so long. I am obsessed. It somehow gives this “cool girl” look while not being black, or grey for that matter. And the best part, because it’s a neutral, it pretty much goes with everything.

Boyfriend Coat + Navy Blue Sweater + Destructed Denim + Moto Boots Theory Tollie Cashmere Sweater / Zara Ripped Denim (love these by Paige)/ Rag & Bone Moto Boots / 3.1 Phillip Lim 31 Minute Medium Clutch / Banana Republic Gray Long Peacoat / Forever21 Rings / Club Monaco Striped T-shirt (love this)

This particular cashmere sweater is made by Theory. I picked it up at TJ Maxx on one of my recent trips back to D.C., but there may be a few available online. So far I am impressed with the quality of this sweater and if it continues to hold up the way it is, I will definitely be looking to pick up more cashmere by Theory in the future. For something similar at a lower price point, I suggest the J.Crew Relaxed Merino Wool Sweater which is currently on sale for an extra 25% off from $89.50 with code GOSHOPPING. I generally prefer merino wool over cotton and cashmere, though it can be itchy for us that are sensitive, it is least prone to pilling in my experience. I always swear a cotton layer underneath to provide a barrier between my skin and the sweater.

And because it is that time of year, we can’t forget the notable sales that are going on right now:

Sephora: This sale always breaks my bank. For Rouge members 20% early access ends tomorrow (November 9th). Use code ROUGE20. But we will be able to get the VIB discount again if we missed something starting on the 13th (until the 16th) with code VIB20.

Bloomingdale’s: Friends and Family Sale started today with 25% most items. Use code HOLIDAY. I picked up these oxfords and I can’t wait to see them.

Banana Republic: 50% off up to 5 regular price items for “Family and Friends”. It is actually a unique code found in your email. If you haven’t seen yours, I suggest searching your inbox. Plus 40% off sale items with code BRSALE, or BRCSALE for those of us in Canada. I finally picked up the sister to the coat I am wearing above.

LOFT: Although I’m generally not a huge LOFT fan, they do have a few items right now that have been leaning towards my tomboy-ish style. They are having an extra 60% off sale and some newer items are marked down by either 50% or down to $35. A few  things I picked up:

Nordstrom: Is having their fall clearance sale. I’m contemplating these jeans, since I never have enough denim.

Happy shopping! I know I will! 🙂
