Houndstooth

Props (is this still the word kids use these days?) to Banana Republic who designed this long double-breasted houndstooth wool coat in petite sizes. It is such a rarity, even with brands now venturing out to be more accommodating to those of us who don’t fit into “regular” sizing (i.e., tall, plus, petite).

Red

Let’s be real. This is not the outfit I’m wearing this week in Toronto right now. We are in a deep freeze and we got hit with a nice little snowstorm (I can’t complain too much–Newfoundland’s got it bad). I’m heavy on the layers with my Ugg snowboots, the heaviest parka I own, and my warmest hat and mittens. It’s neither cool, nor glamorous.

The White Coat

A white winter coat has been on my wish list for a while now. I came across this coat on the Zara website as I was browsing their post-holiday sales, and my eyes nearly popped out of my head. A bit fitted to the body, but still had a bit of a masculine feel. It was only last week that I was thinking that I was pretty proud of myself that I hadn’t purchased a coat in over a year, and then suddenly came to an abrupt end.
