I’ve been a bit of sucker when it comes to tops and blouses with contrast sleeves as of late. And really, it’s only because I love the look under vests and other sleeveless toppers as it just makes an outfit more visually interesting.
I’ve been contemplating shortening this vest. I love the longer length, but I think it could be a bit more flattering on my petite frame if I shortened it a few inches. Any opinions?
Spring has been pretty slow to come around this year so I’m still layering up pretty heavily, particularly in the evenings. The elusive spring has been frustrating but at the same time, a part of me is pretty happy that I still have time to experiment with cool weather pieces.
This leather-sleeve trench coat is the thickest trench that I own (so much lining!) and also my most loved. I bought my regular XS, but it generally does not allow for heavy layering underneath like I did here. I finally made it work with a bit (or a lot) of gentle tugging and twisting.
This extra long J.Crew Endless Shirt is an instant favorite in my closet right now. The cuff is extra long which I thought was too unusual for me to keep as I wanted something as classic as possible, but it has definitely grown on me since it allows for a different look when folded over.
I debated long and hard about whether to go with 0P or 2P with the Endless Shirt. It seemed to me that I was getting a lot more lenth in the sleeves on the 2P, but overall the 0P fit much better everywhere else and I got maybe 3mm of extra width in the shoulder which is not enough to make a difference in how high I could lift my arms. I also ordered the LOFT Tunic Softened Shirt for comparison but I am a bit worried about the wrinkle factor as well as the sheerness of the fabric since it is 100% cotton, . We’ll see what happens!
I am very much a minimalist when it comes to style, so often times, creative layering can be a challenge for me. But lately I have purchased a few items and with unusual lengths and shapes, so the layering has actually become a little bit less of a struggle.
My posts have been sporadic of late. Truth is, I have actually been hard at work on this blog–but on the back end. So even though you don’t see anything yet, there will be some changes coming! I finally decided to bite the bullet and just go ahead and do what I’ve been thinking about doing for the last few years. No time like the present! Hopefully the new website will go live within the next week, and without any major problems. I really have no idea what I’m doing and trying to wing it the best I can. So please pardon the lack of posts of the next week or so, it’s all for the better!
