Some news from behind the scenes: I started a new job this week! I am still in Toronto, even though I fully expected to return to the U.S. to begin this new journey, but as it so happened, I was offered a great opportunity at home that I couldn’t turn down. I’m experiencing all those feeling that come with starting a new chapter in one’s life including excitement and anxiety. As you may have noticed, I skipped a few blog posts since I was traveling over the last while and as I settle into my new job, I hope to get these posts going again. I don’t expect my work hours to change drastically from my last job, but it’s probably too early to be setting such expectations. I will have to be diligent with managing my time.
One of my most recent purchases for my new job was this cross-over top by Pleione that I purchased at Nordstrom. It comes in petite sizes! It runs slightly large around the torso, but in the end I went with my regular size for a slightly slouchier look and makes for a different silhouette than I’m used to when paired with a pencil skirt. It comes in an array of patterns and colors and I certainly recommend.
I’ve been a bit of sucker when it comes to tops and blouses with contrast sleeves as of late. And really, it’s only because I love the look under vests and other sleeveless toppers as it just makes an outfit more visually interesting.
Time flies. Somehow it is already February into 2015. It is also about that time when those of us who experience the harsh, deep cold in the winter months, are just getting sick of it and are itching for spring to come. As I long for warmer temperatures, I continue slip on those thick layers and chunky knits which by this time is completely tiresome.
I have spent all winter looking for an over-sized chunky grey sweater, since I had to give up my last cashmere turtleneck after wearing holes into the elbows last year. It is just so difficult to find a great quality, slightly over-sized wool sweater with a good fit for a small petite that is also within a reasonable price range. I finally came across this one from Aritzia, which also happened to be on sale. I actually had to go down a size from my regular Aritzia XS so I didn’t look I was being swallowed up, but it totally fit the bill. I am now wearing this constantly until spring rolls around and it gets too warm to wear it.
