I guess it’s the perfect time of year to break out these J.Crew Double-Serge Wool skirts that I have. As soon as winter rolls around, I have absolutely no desire to wear skirts; I much prefer trousers where I can slip on some thick tights or leggings underneath. Our summer wasn’t exactly the warmest this year, so I’m not thrilled about the pending winter which is not so far away. Who knew the polar vortex wasn’t going to limit itself to the winter months?? I was so disappointed I actually found myself craving the hot, sticky D.C. summer. Yup, I said it. I miss hot and sticky weather. Grass is always greener, right?
In the past, I have always shied away from all black outfits. They seemed too goth like, or at least, I bought into the idea that warm weather always meant I had to wear bright colors. I do enjoy a lighter palette in the summer, but sometimes I just want to wear an all black outfit without feeling self-conscious. Then one day last week on the way to the office, I saw a girl walking down the street in an all black outfit and it was, to sum it up in one word, amazing. Yeah, it was a very dark look, but it didn’t detract from its awesomeness. If she can do it, I can certainly do it!
Now that I have been inspired by this random lady wearing an all black outfit, I’m totally excited to see what all black outfits I can throw together!
I shopped my closet and re-discovered a few awesome things. Always a good thing.
To make this more work appropriate, I just throw on a blazer and I’m good to go!
