One of my favorite alternative colors to black? Blue! I’ve learned that just because you wear an outfit all in one color, doesn’t mean it has to be of the same tone. Go ahead and mix navy, light blue, blue denim. It will look great!
J Brand Lovestory Flares (old) / Madewell Bucket Bag / LAUREN by Ralph Lauren Adena Pumps / Ann Taylor Top (old) / Banana Republic Scarf (sold out, but love this stripe scarf) / Ann Taylor Pendant Necklace (sold out) / Michael Kors Runway Watch / Forever21 Rings
I’ve been a bit of sucker when it comes to tops and blouses with contrast sleeves as of late. And really, it’s only because I love the look under vests and other sleeveless toppers as it just makes an outfit more visually interesting.
Never would I have thought to wear an army green utility jacket with this light jade/minty green blouse, but I recently discovered Marissa Webb’s Instagram and suddenly I’m all sorts of inspired to try new color combinations.
After putting on this outfit, I’ve been questioning myself as to whether or not I actually like the pieces together. The colors, despite my own logic, appear to somehow work, but it’s a lot of color for someone who’s had an obsession with black and other dark neutrals over the last few years. It’s going to require some getting used to.
